Project

Carrs Landing

Lake Country, BC

Vinyl siding removed and replaced with a complete stucco system, chosen for fire safety on a property surrounded by pine.

The Carrs Landing home after its vinyl siding was replaced with a full stucco exterior.

The job

The homeowner called us about her vinyl siding. The house sits in a high wildfire risk area with dense pine right up to the property, and vinyl is combustible. That was the whole reason for the job.

We stripped the vinyl off the house and installed a complete stucco exterior system in its place. Stucco is non-combustible, so it does not feed a fire the way vinyl does, and it gives her one less thing to think about every summer.

Taking siding off an occupied house means working elevation by elevation, keeping the wall protected between stages so nothing gets in behind it.

Scope

  • Removal and disposal of the existing vinyl siding
  • Complete stucco exterior system throughout the home
  • Non-combustible cladding for wildfire exposure
  • Trim, corners and openings detailed to suit the new system
